If your family is growing my two tiny feet and you’re considering hiring a professional newborn photographer, you might be asking yourself “how much do newborn pictures cost?” Unfortunately the answers to this question vary largely, as service-based industries often do. One thing I will always advocate for is a photographer who is newborn safety trained and knows how to work with newborns specifically. You shouldn’t trust your precious baby to just anyone!

Experienced Newborn Photographer

I highly recommend finding a photographer experienced in newborn portraits as well as trained in newborn safe posing. You never want to risk baby’s safety in hopes of saving some money! I have unfortunately talked with many moms who regretted hiring the “affordable” photographer who ended up not happy with the outcome of the session. Your photographer should have a good, well rounded portfolio of newborn images from multiple different sessions, showcasing a wide variety of work.

As for myself, I am on the higher end of the newborn portrait investment scale due to my experience, safety training and line of incredible products that I offer and the one-in-a-million service I provide to my clients. But, am I the right photographer for you?

Investment

Booking fees hold your due date on my calendar and cover time spent planning your session, photographing, your in person ordering appointment and creating artwork. Digital images, printed artwork and other products are not included.

Each session starts with a complimentary consultation to get to know each other, discuss plans for your dream newborn portrait session, prop ideas and wardrobe options as well as who will be included in your session. Pricing is valid through December 31, 2024

Optional add-ons, such as professional hair and makeup, a maternity session or first birthday sessions are available with your booking fee as well.

IMAGE REVEAL & ORDERING APPOINTMENT

Approximately 2 weeks after your session we will meet back in the studio. All of your images will be fully retouched and ready for you. We will start the appointment with a beautiful newborn session video featuring your sweet baby. It’s usually pretty emotional, and everyone LOVES it!

Next, we will sort through your images and choose your favorites. By this point most clients have a pretty good idea of which collection would work best for them, so we will choose images that will fit that collection best. I’ll mock up any artwork you’re considering purchasing so you can see exactly what you’ll receive, and we will finalize your order.

Orders take approximately 2-3 weeks to come in from the lab. Once I have received your order I will inspect it thoroughly, package it up nicely and contact you for pick up! I’ll ask you to come in and look through your items, because client’s reactions to receiving their orders is my favorite part of the job! There truly is nothing like seeing your images printed and holding them in your hands!

Because babies tend to decide their own birthdays, I take a limited number of sessions per month to guarantee availability for clients who have reserved their sessions during pregnancy. The ideal time to reserve your session is between 28-32 weeks pregnant.
