Helping sleep-deprived mamas remember their newborn's tiny details and features is my passion. Let's start planning your session today.
My job is to capture all of your newborn's tiniest features and preserve them for you to cherish, look back on and hold close to your heart forever.
As a mom of four, I know exactly how stressful, exhausting and overwhelming this newborn stage is. I also know how short it is.
"Ashleigh has done our family pictures for the last three years, our newborn session, maternity photos, and we've scheduled several mini sessions with her. She's AMAZING with the kiddos (my toddler likes her studio toys and snacks), she is so patient and professional, and she gets a ton of amazing photos every session. I have no idea how she does this with wiggly kiddos, but she manages to capture magic each time."
"I love working with Ashleigh. She is the sweetest and did beautiful on my newborn photos and family photos. I would recommended her to anyone!"
"So far we've done two sessions with Ashleigh, both exceeding our expectations. She was so gentle and efficient while changing my daughter into different swaddles during her newborn session. The set for her sitter session was beautiful and her photos turned out gorgeous. So glad we found a photographer we're satisfied with, Ashleigh will be our first choice for future milestone sessions."

06. when will i get my images? what is your turnaround time like?
05. Can i choose the colors or themes for my session?
04. When is the best time to photograph babies?
03. what if my baby won't sleep or is fussy during their session?
02. what do i need to bring to my newborn session?
01. when should i book my maternity and/or newborn sessions?
I recommend reserving your Newborn Session during your second or third trimester of pregnancy to make sure I have availability on my calendar. This will save your spot on my calendar - regardless when baby is actually born - and guarantees you a session even if baby comes early or late! If baby or mom need to stay in the hospital for a while, that's ok too - we are flexible!
For best results with maternity sessions, I recommend scheduling for 28-36 weeks pregnant. This usually prevents the session being cancelled due to labor and mom is usually still comfortable enough to move around while still sporting a lovely bump!
Clients are welcome to bring personal items to incorporate into their sessions, however nothing is required for you to bring. My studio is fully stocked with outfits, swaddles, headbands, hats, props, backdrops, accessories and pieces to make your session truly custom and unique - no need to purchase anything extra!
The only thing I need from my clients is their baby and extra milk or formula! Pacifiers help too, but are not required if you prefer not to use them.
I tell all of my clients - awake babies are fine, as long as they aren't screaming at me! While being awake does limit the poses we are able to accomplish, I've never had a baby stay completely awake through their entire session!
Babies are tiny humans and sometimes have bad days - just like adults. If baby is just not having a good day and all of the soothing techniques are not working, we can absolutely look at other dates for you to come back and complete your session.
Typically it's best to photograph babies as soon after birth as possible. However babies tend to start cluster feeding between 9-11 days old, so it's best to try and avoid those dates!
My best sessions typically happen when babies are between 12 and 17 days old. At this age baby's feeding schedule is a bit more predictable, mom has had a chance to recover a bit and the whole family has had a chance to breathe and adjust to a new baby joining the family.
Please note: this is not a hard and fast rule. If mom and/or baby need to stay in the hospital for any reason or if baby is in the NICU for an extended time, these are extenuating circumstances that will be addressed on a case by case basis.
Absolutely! I love it when parents give their opinions on the session and share their vision.
Soon after booking we will schedule a Session Planning Appointment where we can chat about colors, themes, outfits, hair and makeup, props, accessories and every other detail you can think of. I will keep all of your ideas and needs for the session in mind and together we will design the most beautiful session.
After your session we will set a date for your In Person Ordering Appointment. This appointment typically happens 7-10 days after your session, and you'll see a soft proofed gallery of images to choose from and place an order.
Once your order is placed, I will fully edit the images you have ordered, send you the digital copies and order the artwork from my lab. Receiving your order from the lab can take approximately 3 weeks depending on what you order.
